Brine storage tanks and pumping stations - for safe storage and filling of brine
As a manufacturer of storage tanks, we offer you suitable solutions for storing your salt brine for use in winter service. In combination with our pumping stations, you can fill one or more gritting vehicles.
Our double-walled tanks – store your sodium, magnesium or calcium chloride in accordance with regulations (WHG / AwSV)
Our double-walled tanks are approved by the German Institute for Building Technology (DIBt). This means that our PE-HD tanks are approved for the storage of sodium, magnesium or calcium chloride and other chemicals. The storage therefore fulfils the current requirements of the German Water Resources Act (WHG) and the Ordinance on Installations for the Handling of Substances Hazardous to Water (AwSV).

What is brine?
When talking about the use of de-icing agents in winter road maintenance, the term brine is often used. This is sodium chloride dissolved in water, which has a content of between 20 and 23 per cent. Terms such as liquid salt, brine, FS30, FS100 or NaCl solution are also frequently used.
What is the difference between FS30 and FS100
FS30 is also known as pre-wetted salt. The mixing ratio is 70 % de-icing salt and 30 % brine. FS100 is also known as liquid salt. The brine concentration consists of 20 to 23% brine, depending on the application or requirement.
Is salt brine often used in winter maintenance?
The trend towards the use of salt brine is increasing. Both small and large municipalities as well as numerous motorway maintenance depots are increasingly switching from road salt to FS30 or FS100.
The brine pumping station – easy filling of your gritting vehicles
In combination with our double-walled tanks, the brine pumping station offers optimum benefits.
- Regular circulation of the brine storage tank
- Pumping back the brine from the gritting vehicle
- Automatic switch-off of the pump when the vehicle reports full
