In Nordholz (Bavaria), Dr. Hans Keller establishes the company Sebastian Keller Nachfolger – a business that evolves from his father's blacksmithing trade. The initial focus is on the production of steel parts.
An innovative step
With the first liquid fertilizer container made of fiberglass-reinforced plastic (GRP), formoplast lays the foundation for its specialization.
The birth of formoplast
Foundation of formoplast-chemie Dr. Hans Keller GmbH. The focus shifts to the production of storage containers made of GRP - a technology with a future.
Official recognition of our quality
formoplast is the first company in Germany to receive approval for a storage container made of GRP/PVC from the German Institute for Building Technology (DIBt).
At the same time, graduate engineer Klaus-Ingo Keller, son of the founder, joins the company as technical director.
A new chapter begins
Klaus-Ingo Keller and his wife Christina found formoplast Kunststofftechnik GmbH and start producing storage tanks made of PE-HD and PP. Here, the engineer is able to utilise the valuable experience he gained during his time as technical manager in his parents' company.

1989
Certification as a specialised company according to § 19 l WHG.
1990
Development of an innovative winding machine for the production of container cylinder jackets.
1993
First approval in Germany for a double-walled container made of PE-HD with vacuum safety control (VSK) by the DIBT.
A modern location for the future
With the move to Dornstadt near Ulm, formoplast is creating space for further growth and technological development.

Alexandra Keller joins the family business
Alexandra Keller is the third generation to join the family business. Following her degree in industrial engineering (B.Eng.) and three years of experience in the automotive industry, she brings fresh impetus with her. In addition, she begins studying Applied Plastics Technology with a degree in engineering while working.

Strengthening corporate governance
With Silke Keller, another daughter joins the company. As a graduate economist and tax consultant, she strengthens the economic and commercial focus of the company.
